Day 6: Proverbs 6

Summary:

God has every aspect of our lives covered, as we clearly see in Proverbs 6, when Solomon advises us on how we can preserve our finances and avoid making unwise business decisions and deals with untrustworthy people. We are shown that while “get rich quick” schemes might seem like an easy way to find wealth, we will only prosper through hard work and careful planning, and if we find ourselves in a precarious situation, we are instructed to find a way out of it—even if it means swallowing our pride and humbling ourselves to do so. Adultery is again mentioned in the latter part of the chapter, used both literally and figuratively, to demonstrate how people can often be easily swayed by flattery, beauty, and deception. Using prudence and wisdom will strengthen our relationship with God, making it impossible for us to be deceived.
